Our adoption process is thorough and starts with completion of our online adoption application. Upon receiving an application, we complete a verbal reference from your vet, ensuring that all current or past animals are up to date on vaccines as spayed or neutered. We also complete an animal control reference when possible to ensure your current pets are licensed and there are no existing complaints against you in your town. Often times we do a second verbal reference and require speaking with your landlord when applicable. Following all references checking out, we schedule a 30 phone screening to learn more about you, your home, and to tell you more about the dog you applied to adopt. If phone screening goes well, we complete an in person home visit. Upon completion of the home visit, a meet with the adoptable dog you are interested in is scheduled. We do not do same day adoptions so if all goes well at the meet, the adoption is scheduled within a week.

Dogs being adopted under one year of age are required to be signed up for basic obedience classes prior to adoption. All adoptive families are encouraged to continue training with their dog up the Canine Good Citizen Level (CGC). Adopters will receive a (donated) gift box if their rescue dog receives their CGC certification.

All dogs are up to date on rabies and distemper vaccines, heartworm tested, micro-chipped and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Any known behavioral or health needs of the dog will be clearly communicated to adopters during phone screen.
